Following BTS at the National Museum of Korea: Dear Class of 2020

When I travel, I always make it a point to visit at least one museum and in Seoul, my very first stop was the National Museum of Korea, a place that beautifully blends art, history, and nature. It also happens to be where BTS filmed their virtual commencement address and performances of “Boy With Luv” and “Mikrokosmos” for the Dear Class of 2020 event.

I walked through the spacious halls, guided by Class of 2020 stickers that mark where BTS stood and performed. It was surreal to stand where they once were — surrounded by the same greenery and light that framed their heartfelt message to the graduating class. There’s a quiet, grounding energy in the museum, especially in the garden areas where glass walls reveal lush plants and calm water features.

As a little keepsake, I bought a silver spoon and chopsticks set from the gift shop something elegant yet practical, a small token to remind me of this meaningful stop. Taking the escalator to the upper floors gives you a lovely view of Seoul beyond the museum walls, a gentle reminder of how BTS’s message in that video felt: hopeful, forward-looking, and full of quiet strength.
