Dining at Otsu Seiromushi: The Yeouido Branch
I had the pleasure of dining at the second branch of Otsu, tucked in the basement of a building in Seoul’s financial district. This restaurant had a slightly different menu compared to the original I had visited before, but it was just as special. If your bias is Kim Seokjin, then OTSU2 is an absolute must-visit.
Jin and Hobi had the same sashimi platter we ordered, along with the signature Seiro-mushi. The sashimi was good, but I particularly loved the abalone and tuna belly, which were rich and flavorful. To finish, I tried the frozen Muscat Grape with Mascarpone, a subtle yet delightful way to cap the meal. The sweet potato with butter appetizer was also good.
One of the most memorable parts of the visit was seeing the VIP room where Jin and Hobi had dined before Jin began his military service. The staff were incredibly kind and let us step inside and take photos, making the experience feel personal and unique. I still remember being at OTSU1 when the announcement of BTS’s enlistment was made, it’s funny how certain places stick with you over time.
By the end of the meal, I felt a mix of contentment and quiet excitement not just from the food, but from the little stories woven into the space, the aroma of the dishes, and the playful thought of imagining Jin and Hobi sitting at the same table. Some meals aren’t just about taste; they’re about the moments that linger long after the last bite.
