Finding Little V in Daegu: Daesung Elementary School and the Mural

While riding Bus #724, the same route SUGA used to get to school, I happened to spot a mural that immediately caught my eye. It stretches along the outside wall next to Daesung Elementary School, the school V (Kim Taehyung) attended as a child. I recognized it from photos I had seen online, and it was surreal to see it in real life.

Daegu isn’t exactly buzzing with BTS fans, so most of the street vendors nearby didn’t seem to notice or care that the mural was dedicated to V. Perhaps the younger people around might know, but for the most part, it felt like a quiet little secret tucked in the city. We took a walk along the mural, stopping to take photos of each section, letting ourselves imagine Little V walking to school every day, just a kid with a big personality yet to blossom into the V we know now.

A little past the mural, we found a cozy juice shop and I treated myself to a yuzu drink, enjoying the cool day and the calm streets. The combination of the mural, the gentle weather, and imagining V’s daily routine made it a magical, reflective walk, one of those moments where the city, history, and fandom all quietly intersect.
