While exploring one of Seoul’s posh neighborhoods, I visited Kaori, the shop of designer Lee Hyung Ryul, known for his handmade and custom-order hats. His pieces have been worn by many artists and stylists including V’s stylist, who sourced some of the hats V has worn.

We actually learned about Kaori from another ARMY we met on a bus during a tour, who later became our friend. She mentioned how special the shop was, and we decided to check it out and I’m so glad we did.

The shop itself felt intimate and creative, quietly stylish, with every hat showing its own charm and craftsmanship. We had the chance to meet Lee himself, and when we mentioned we were ARMY, he smiled warmly. He was kind, soft-spoken, and genuinely passionate about what he creates.

The area around Kaori has a distinctly upscale feel, surrounded by designer stores, luxury labels, and local artisan shops. As we walked back toward the main road, it felt like moving through a part of Seoul where creativity and elegance meet, fitting for a designer like him.

It was a small but special experience, connecting BTS’s world to everyday Seoul in such a simple, genuine way, another memory added to my Purple Vault.
